A princess’s life | La de vida de una princesa.

A princess’s life Princess is a 7 year-old girl, whom I met while walking barefoot through the muddy streets of Nacpan. When she crossed us she looked at my feet and pointed to a small house where sandals hung. I approached her and told her to choose something, but she refused and put some fuchsia pair (so her, little me) on me, insisting to take them and well, I bought them. From there, she grabbed my hand and led me to the town’s church and we quickly reached the chapel …

The Grand Mosque | La Gran Mezquita

This mosque is massive and really does make you feel small and humbled, perhaps is the intention? Prior to the tour, I was already told of the Grand Mosque’s dress code. I came prepared, but my awesome guide also brought me an “abaya”, a traditional garment for me to wear! Women need to cover their hair all the time, so I was really conscious about the wind blowing my scarf out of place. I’m Soy into Hong Kong. | Soya Hong Kong.

What I like about cities is that everything is king size, the beauty and the ugliness. These Banyans trees are found everywhere in Hong Kong, growing in parks, street planters and even between the cracks of stone walls. Their imposing presence defines de cityscape. . As the tree grows, its roots plunge dozens of meters into the soil behind the wall!Respect for bayans runs deep in south Chinese culture. They are considered to …

Golden Gai, Shinjuku

I visited the Ace’s bar, actually twice during my trip. The 1st time, I sat by the bar, asked for a Yebisu beer and for the story behind a Colorado’s plate that was casually hanging by the liquor bottles. The owner/bartender, Tsuyoshi smiled. He then told me that he opened this place after returning from a four-year stint in Colorado. He thought if he’d moved back to Japan, he’d have to take a piece of CO with him. So, he opened his bar in the Golden Gai area and hanged …

Meet the The Great Buddha of Kamakura |Conozca el Gran Buddha of Kamakura

He was inside a temple hall at the beginning which was further destroyed by storm, earthquakes, tsunamis, many times…he has stood in the open meditating under the sky for about 500 years. And rain or shine there I was too. I truly experienced how imposing the 2nd most largest bronze statue was, once I went inside. I stood right in the center of the body and looked up. I checked how it was cast, the beauty of his cracks and the light that went through them…a story of resilience under the …
